Technical Paper Submission Information
The submission and review of technical papers for IEEE SoutheastCon 2012 will be handled by the conference's paper submission and review system, accessible from the IEEE SoutheastCon 2012 website. The submitted papers must contain original work and not have been previously published or presented elsewhere. All full-length reviewed papers accepted for IEEE SoutheastCon 2012 will be published in the IEEE SoutheastCon 2012 proceedings on CD and IEEE Xplore. Hardcopy conference proceedings can be ordered for additional fee. At least one author must pre-register for the conference, paying the full registration fee, in order to have their paper included on CD and IEEE Xplore. During the acceptance process, the corresponding author will identify the presenter of the paper. A total of 6 double-column printed pages are allowed for each full-length reviewed paper. A page charge of $100.00 will be applied for each extra page (up to 2 pages for full-length reviewed papers) exceeding the 6-page limit (8 pages maximum). An author can submit multiple papers. All submissions must comply with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations, and IEEE policies.

Paper Format and Template
SoutheastCon 2012 adopts IEEE standard conference proceedings format. All submissions should be written in English with a maximum paper length of eight (8) printed pages (10-point font) including figures. Papers exceed 8 pages will not be reviewed. Papers have to be submitted in PDF format. Manuscript Templates for Conference Proceedings for Microsoft Word or LaTeX formats are found at http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html
Technical Presentation Format
Full-length papers may be presented in one of two technical presentation formats: an oral presentation format, or a poster-session format. Authors should indicate preference for either the oral presentation format or the poster-session format at the time of paper submission. Author preference for oral or poster presentation format will be honored where possible. However, conference organizers cannot guarantee any presentation format and reserve the right to set the presentation, due to constraints on facilities and schedules. Notification of final presentation formats will be through publication of the advance technical program schedule on February 24, 2012.
Tutorials and Workshops
Proposals are also invited for tutorials and workshops to be presented at IEEE SoutheastCon 2012. The proposal should include the tutorial or workshop objectives, a brief description (500 words), an outline, proposed length (one-hour, two-hour, or four-hour), and a short professional resume of the instructor. Please send proposals for tutorials and workshops to the Tutorial/Workshop Chair by December 19th, 2011. Tutorial and workshop presentation materials (in .pdf) and handouts (in .pdf) are due by February 3rd, 2012.
Copyright Information
Submission of a paper, an abstract or other material to IEEE SoutheastCon 2012 represents the author's agreement to allow IEEE to publish the paper, abstract, or other materials in any written or electronic format for distribution to all interested parties in perpetuity with or without compensation to IEEE and without compensation to the author. The parties understand that the author is granting a nonexclusive license and all copyrights remain the property of the author. A copyright form must be signed by the author for each accepted paper or abstract to be published in the conference proceedings.
Conference Registration
Advance conference registration for IEEE members will be $295 per person which includes one paper registration. Any additional papers registered under the same author will be charged at $150 per paper. For each paper, at least one author must pay the full non-student registration rate. For example, an author of 2 papers would pay an advance registration fee of $295 + $150 additional paper fee = $445, co-authors would not be required to pay additional paper fees, and student co-authors can register at student rate.
Plagiarism and Double Submission
Papers are reviewed on the basis that they do not contain
plagiarized material and have not been submitted to any other
conference at the same time (double submission). These matters
are taken very seriously and the IEEE Communications society
will take action against any author who has engaged in either
practice. IEEE Web Page on Plagiarism:
